Things to do in Da Nang
Da Nang holds a special place in my heart; it’s my hometown, a sanctuary to which I always return. Speaking of Da Nang fills me with immense pride, especially when considering its journey post-war. Despite its initial struggles with poverty and limited offerings, Da Nang has remarkably transformed over the years. Today, it stands as one of Vietnam’s largest cities, celebrated for its livability and striking a perfect balance between development and maintaining a relaxed atmosphere, unlike the bustling metropolises of Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.
Con Market
Address: 90 Hùng Vương, Hải Châu 1, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng , Vietnam
Con Market in Da Nang is a must-visit for culinary enthusiasts. Whenever I return home, Con Market is a place I eagerly intend to visit. Con Market is a one-stop destination where you can discover nearly everything, from clothing, stationery, shoes, and souvenirs to local delicacies and an array of street food options. The dishes are diverse, ranging from Hu Tieu, Mi Quang, Banh Beo, and Banh Bot Loc to refreshing smoothies, grilled squid, and fish. After a day of discovering, treat yourself to a steaming bowl of beef noodle soup or amazingly fresh sugarcane juice.

Just a few tips:
- Don’t forget to haggle when making purchases of clothes or souvenirs.
- Most of the stores in the market only accept cash.
- Exercise caution regarding pickpockets.
Ba Na Hills
Things to do in Da Nang
Address: Ba Na Hills Tourist Area, An Son Hamlet, Hoa Ninh Commune, Hoa Vang District, Da Nang City
Known as a true paradise resort with a cool climate throughout the year and breathtaking natural landscapes, Ba Na Hills is a top-rated tourist destination in Vietnam, cherished by both domestic and international travelers. The distance from Da Nang Airport to Ba Na is not too far, only about 40km to the southwest.
I visited Ba Na Hills for the first time when I was around 10 years old, the place seemed like a fairyland to me, with enchanting clouds at a close distance and mountainous beauty.

Besides enjoying nature, you’ll experience all four seasons in a single day: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Explore classical European-style castles, visit the French village, tour wine cellars, and take a unique mountain train ride. The entertainment facilities, fresh air, and natural beauty make Ba Na Hills an ideal destination.
Note: Ba Na’s weather can be chilly, so bring a jacket no matter when you travel during the year!
Transport
There are several transportation options available for traveling to Ba Na Hills from the center of Da Nang, including hiring a car, taking a coach, or using a taxi.
For bus options such as DANANGTRANSFER or city tour buses, it’s advisable to make a booking in advance. These coaches typically offer a pick-up service from your hotel or a nearby area.
My Khe Beach
Address: Vo Nguyen Giap Street, 3 km east of the city center
Wondering what to do in Da Nang? Not randomly chosen as one of the most beautiful beaches on the planet by Forbes magazine, My Khe Beach is captivating and clean, attracting many tourists and locals for a beach day. Imagine admiring the blue sea and, sipping on fresh coconut water, letting your worries wash away with the waves, and breathing in the fresh sea air and cool breeze.
For all the food enthusiasts out there, if you find yourself at My Khe Beach, make sure not to pass up the chance to relish fresh seafood in Da Nang. Numerous seafood restaurants line the shores of My Khe Beach, such as Be Man restaurant. I assure you it would be one of the experiences where you can taste the freshest, most flavorful, and reasonably priced seafood.

Dragon Bridge
Address: Nguyen Van Linh Street, An Hai Trung Ward, Hai Chau District, Da Nang City

Da Nang is also known as the city of bridges, and the Dragon Bridge spans the Han River with its majestic dragon-shaped structure. In the evening, it becomes a popular spot for tourists to enjoy the cityscape. On Saturdays and Sundays at 9:00 PM, the Dragon Bridge spouts water (3 times) and breathes fire (18 times).
Marble Mountains (Ngũ Hành Sơn )
Address: 81 Huyen Tran Cong Chua, Hoa Hai, Ngu Hanh Son, Da Nang
Marble Mountains is a fascinating and unique destination that you wouldn’t want to miss in Da Nang. Only about 7 km from the city center, Marble Mountains consists of 6 mountains: Kim Son, Moc Son, Thuy Son, Tho Son, and Hoa Son. These mountains are named after the five elements: Thuy (Water), Hoa (Fire), Moc (Wood), Kim (Metal), and Tho (Earth). Each mountain has its unique charm and features, including caves, Buddhist sanctuaries and pagodas, such as the famous Linh Ung Pagoda and panoramic views of the surrounding area. The limestone mountains, caves, ancient temples along the coast, the beauty of tall mountains, the blue sea, and the spiritual atmosphere create a mysterious Marble Mountains.

The vibe at Ngu Hanh Son always keeps me grounded and relaxed whenever I’m there.

When you’re here, don’t forget to visit the ancient stone carving village of Non Nuoc, with exquisite stone sculptures. You can buy these products as souvenirs.
Tips:
If you’re heading to Ngu Hanh Son, just a heads up – there are quite a bunch of stairs. So, toss on some comfy shoes, and you’ll be good to go!
Transport from from Da Nang to Hoi An
How long does it take for a taxi from Da Nang to Hoi An? It only takes about 40 – 50 minutes depending on the traffic conditions. Travelers can easily find taxis in Da Nang or Hoi An, or they can quickly book a Grab through the app.(Grab is a popular ride-hailing and food delivery service in Vietnam.)
Enjoy our amazing coffee
You might surprised to know that Vietnam ranks as the world’s second-largest exporter of coffee. Coffee is a fundamental aspect of Vietnamese culture. Coffee culture in Vietnam traces back to the 1850s when the French introduced coffee.
Since then, coffee has become an essential morning ritual, a must-have to kickstart our day. So when you’re in Da Nang, one of the things you must explore is trying the local coffee. You can find coffee places on every corner, from street-side coffee stalls to coffee houses.

We offer a variety of coffee choices. One of our signature coffee is egg coffee, locally known as “cà phê trứng,” which includes blending whipped eggs and sweetened condensed milk with robust coffee. Other options include international favorites like latte, cappuccino, iced coffee, or salted cream coffee, coconut coffee and “bạc xỉu,” a Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk.
Some of my favorite coffee spots:
- Cộng coffee
- Trung Nguyen coffee
- Highland coffee
- BonPas Bakery & Coffee
- The Books Garden
